Look guys, some people will tell you that organization is essential and a sign of a sound mind, but that is just baloney. The reality is everything in your apartment or your home ought to be in the easiest and most efficient place to find it, at the time that you need to utilize it.
What, you say you do your own cooking? Then it makes sense to have the spice rack on the counter next to the stove, and don’t go hiding it in some cabinet so that you look organized. That’s just ridiculous. If you have a hot date coming over and you think that you want to pretend that you are organized, then maybe you can put it in the cupboard for that visit, other than that you want everything to be as efficient as possible.
Oh and Don’t bother putting your toothbrush away in either, your toothbrush should be in a toothbrush holder sticking straight up right next to the cold water faucet turn on knob. Do you see what I mean? Everything must be in the most efficient place to speed up any monotonous chores that you might do. So stop trying to please everyone else and make your life efficient, for you! You are not married yet, so stop worrying about it.
When it’s time to clean up a mess and put everything away, you should consider where everything goes and where you usually use each item. No items should be stored more than 1/2 step away from where you are most likely going to be using it.
Yes, I know that there are some women out there that would cringe by this advice, but my advice is sound and their advice is merely silly. Oh sure they write lots of books and articles to tell you how to get organized, but what you really want to do is save time and isn’t that what organization is all about. Organization is about being efficient and for us guys it’s about winning, not touchy feely feelings, get the point?
